Service Description
The African proverb that it takes a village to raise a child serves as the foundation of this session. Emphasis will be placed on the philosophy that the highest form of knowledge is self-knowledge. Together we will explore how to avoid "burnout" and how to bring " JOY" to the learning environment by utilizing UJIMA (collective work and responsibility) and the "gifts" that come from traditional ways of knowing and being. A close look at culturally relevant teaching styles that balance the need to protect, correct, and show affection to our children will be shared.
